GISB Honors Earthquake Victims

Students tying fabric to a fence

Our school community came together to remember the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and North Syria. The Upper Campus dedicated an assembly to this important topic and observed a moment of silence. In addition, students and staff at both campuses wrote wishes for those impacted by the earthquake on pieces of fabric and tied them to a fence – Learn more about “wishing trees” or “wishing fences,” which are common in the Middle East. If you are considering donating to the victims of this devastating natural disaster, you can find more information here.
