Accreditations and Affiliations

German International School Boston is an officially recognized German School Abroad and is open to German and non-German families.

We are a member of an international network of 140 schools that adhere to the German curriculum and are supported by the German government. The network spans over 72 countries and supports around 85,000 students, 60,000 of whom are children of non-German origin. For GISB, the network is a rich source of knowledge and best practices. It provides exchange opportunities for students and gives us access to German authors, artists, and scientists. GISB is also recognized as an Exzellente Auslandsschule – Excellent German School Abroad, the highest accreditation level for German schools abroad.

In addition, GISB is recognized as a MINT Friendly School and is part of a network of German schools worldwide that emphasizes Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in their curriculum. The German equivalent of STEM is MINT: Mathematik, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Technik.
German International School Boston is also an affiliate member of the Association of Independent School of New England.
