There is no dress code at GISB, per se, but we do ask that you always arrive to work clean and scent free. Choose appropriate business casual clothes suitable to your role. Please, no ripped jeans or crop tops.

For J-1s: Get your Social Security number
When you arrive in the U.S. please apply for a social security number. You will need this before the School can issue you a salary payment. This number is important for banking and tax filing purposes in the United States, among other things. Complete this application and make an appointment or show up to the Social Security Office in Cambridge, MA on 10 Fawcett Street. Be sure to bring your J-1 visa documents, passport, DS 2019, completed application and your patience!
