From Caterpillar to Moth: A Class 1A Journey

This school year, Class 1A at Upper Campus embarked on a spontaneous and exciting project. A student discovered a Sphinx Moth caterpillar during the Back to School Picnic, so the class decided to bring it into the classroom to observe its transformation.

The caterpillar quickly became a favorite in the classroom. Students were fascinated as it began to change color and eventually pupated. To keep the chrysalis safe and ensure proper development, Frau Zinnow kept it in her refrigerator from November until April.

After months of anticipation, the moth emerged from its chrysalis after seven weeks. The students were excited to witness this amazing transformation. This hands-on project taught them about the life cycle of the Sphinx Moth and the importance of patience and care in scientific observation.
